Default No Sound with Yamaha Audiogram 3

I'm somewhat of a newb with this stuff but I have had no trouble getting my Audiogram 3 to work with other programs (Cubase, Fruity Loops) but I can't get any playback sound with Reaper. There is clearly input going in but no sound coming out. I found a couple other threads with the exact same problems but those particular fixes aren't working. I'm running Vista 64bit with the latest native driver for the Audiogram 3. Any suggestions? thanks in advance for any help.

post a pic of your reaper audio driver preferences please.
(i'm assuming you have installed the right vista drivers.)
do you see waveform displayed on traks recorded ??
did you select asio in reap prefs ??

heres an idea.
go into cubase and make a note of driver selection.
post back what are selected in cubase for in/out drivers n set same in reap audio prefs.
nbe aware cubase might have just defaulted to basic driver set up.
ie default.
the A3 is asio compatible..tell me what cbase says for drivers.

I uninstalled cubase a long time ago and I'm not sure where the disc went. I do know that I used the Asio4all v2 for fruity loops and that worked just fine. I am using the Asio driver Yamaha USB ASIO. Yes there are waveforms when I record just no playback sound. Another interesting aspect of my problem: Audio files outside of Reaper don't work either while I have my Audiogram plugged in...does that help the problem diagnosis at all?

do you have the audiogram set as your default windows
sound device ??
you have to do this in win .
what do you have the out of audiogram connected to ??
you should proly get from yammie site the latest a3 asio drivers also.
n install em if you dont have em.

run this test.
after setting a3 as your default win sound device.
in win media player tell me if mp3 n wav play back fine.

ps..in reap..
view>>master track.
make sure fader is up and faders are up on recorded traks.
make sure nothin is muted.
if the a3 has a user control panel make sure nothing muted.
heres a connect diagram..
http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/...CNTID=5024958#
clik on a3 configuration.
