Default Aaarg! (slightly OT related to metronome)....

...now why did justin have to make me unhappy (and happy at the same time )? Since the time he promised us a metronome, I'm checking this forum every 1 hour, hoping that magically, there would be a version 1.39 or something, that would say "New with v1.39 - METRONOME!!!111 Now you pathetic losers who were begging for a metronome can finally be happy!!1"

I'm wasting a lot of time now. I usually only check this forum once in a week or something like that, but after jstin's word, i've been checking this forum like crazy! Someone help me. *hihi*

He said it would come, but not when, and he said there was a lot to take in consideration before implementing it. afair.
So if itīs impossible for you to use reaper until its there, you could PM your email to me, and i promise to mail you as soon as that metronome is released.
So you donīt have to check all the time, for the next couple of months.

Default metronome as JS effect you may already know about

You may already know...but others may not....
There's kinda this "compromise" instead of a click track heheeheh

https://stash.reaper.fm/oldsb/4321/metronome.txt

How to use:

1) Put https://stash.reaper.fm/oldsb/4321/metronome.txt in your Jesusonic effects folder
2) Create a new track called "metronome" I guess
3) Arm the track
4) Add effect metronome to track
5) Delete/ignore the little poopies that recording generates with it.

It's not perfect, and still takes up a track, but it's also a shameless plug for LOSER who wrote it, and the Jesusonic effects processing engine which rules!

The Metrobus VST works pretty well as a compromise too. Seems to work ok with tempo changes and all too.

honestly, I wasnt complaining, but thanks for the suggestions for the metronome. I'm using Energy-XT till then. When Reaper comes out with the metronome, I'll grab it ASAP.

I'm not really looking for a VST metronome either. Afterall, the point is that the metronome does everything without you having to fiddle with anything. And Ext gives me that (sorta).

I know what you want (and other midiots too):
a metronome with a count in, that only plays on recording (or on option on playback too)

And on "wait midi note" recording option also.
