Default ReaControlMidi Only Plays Piano Sound

Greetings!

When I use the ReaControlMidi, no matter which sound I choose, it only plays the piano sound.
Can someone please tell me what I may be doing wrong?
I am using macOS Catalina 10.15.7.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Reaper Forums !
In fact ReaControlMidi does not "play" anything at all.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish ?

Thanks for kyour response!
So, no matter which sound I choose, I can only hear the piano sound.
If I choose a bass or a vibraphone sound, it still produces the piano sound.

ReaControlMIDI does not produce any sounds. It just sends information to whatever MIDI device it is connected to.
What are you using to generate sounds? Perhaps some sort of virtual instrument?
It seems like this may be the case, but the program change information (from ReaControlMIDI) is not reaching it?

Obviously you need to get a little deeper into the technology of virtual instruments before being able to ask questions that are able to be answered.
I suggest watching some videos by Kenny (-> REAPER Videos).

Thanks, I checked out the videos on the Reaper site.
They didn't seem to address what I need.

Here is the video I used saw that I thought would help:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oo3RJHsZijk

I followed the instructions, but my sounds did not change like they did on the video.
Any thoughts?

What VST" are you using?

Knowing that would go a long way for anyone helping you.

Also, you do not need to use " ReaControlMidi", that does not put out any sounds as Domzy said.
