Default Video rendering slow

Hi, I'm rendering a 45 minute video on my Ryzen 3900x and it's estimated redering time is 2 hours. I'm only using 24% CPU and only a couple of cores active. There are no effects in the project and it's only a wave file and a simple picture both looped to extend from 6 minuts to 45. Does Reaper really not use multithreading when rendering video?

Reaper doesn't have native encoders, FFMPEG used for rendering. I also have it very slow, sometimes less than 1xspeed.

if it's just a picture you can set the render fps to 1 or 2 and it should render very fast

Yeah, I figured out that it was faster to set the fps to 1, which also makes the file a lot smaller, but I still wanted to know if this render rate was normal.

for me a 30fps video rarely takes more than 1x. FFMPEG on Windows is a little slower than AVFoundation on mac.
