Another vote for LV2, and LADSPA. There's some really nice audio and midi plugs as well as Fons Adriensen's excellent ambisonic encoders and decoders available as simple ladspa plugins.

Now that I'm running Linux I realize how few LinuxVST plugins there are, and how many more LV2 there are.

Fingers crossed for LV2 support.

Default 100% +1 for LV2 support!

I'm a big fan of reaper but also a big fan of Linux.

The lack of LV2 support in reaper has me doing some initial stuff in reaper (especially for live recorded stuff where reafir is indispensable)but then exporting the tracks to finish the work in ardour.

I like reaper better -- the ability to organize tracks under a bus explicitly etc. -- but the dearth of LinuxVST plugins compared to the wealth of Linux LV2 plugins means that I inevitably bounce stuff to ardour for my mixing and mastering.

Of course, on Windows there is no such trouble because there are 5,000,000 paid or free VSTs for every imaginable purpose. But on Linux its a problem.

p.s. I have slip-in/slip-out drives in my computer, so I slip in the Windows SSD to do windows and the Linux SSD to do Linux and I really appreciate that the Reaper license lets me run Reaper on both windows and linux without having to buy a second license!

Yes, I definitely want LV2 support on Reaper.

So I can run Calf Studio Gear:
https://calf-studio-gear.org/

It should be possible to run stand-alone version, under DAW's like Ardour and so, but I want it in Reaper ^^

Default HI First Post LV2 PLease

HI

LV2 in the Linux Reaper would be fantastic. Is it possible to donate for that
specific feature? How about cockos setting up a monthly subscription for features that people really want to see in Linux Reaper.Something small 5.00
minimum and up. A lot of people could benefit what do others thing?

Hi

In the select FX Plugin It would be very nice to be able to edit the Plugin names and add comments. Say as the mouse hovers over a plug in.

Thanks Joseph

As steinberg mentioned the end of vst2 plugins, and regarding the very good quality of numbers of lv2 plugins, having lv2 support is really a good idea to get Reaper raedy for the futur X-D

(while some native VSTs do exists, on Linux most plugins are either LV2 or it's predecessor, LADSPA).

And another +1 for LV2 support. A file browser that displays icons when browsing for track icons would be nice too.

Another +1 from me, there are a lot of great lv2 plugins out there for Linux & it's a real shame that we can't use them in reaper. I also find that if there's a lxvst that's buggy in ardour its lv2 version works fine.

+1 for this feature.

I setup Reaper on Archlinux, everything works so far so good after a long time try and fail. Now, I managed to get everything works 80% as I had on Windows (of course except some Windows plugins).

For Windows VST, I use Airwave (because I can't manage to use Carla), so I can load Windows VST can load direclty inside Reaper without a plugin-host (such as Carla). The worst thing is that for native Linux plugin, on Reaper for linux, I can't use it natively I have to load them through Carla, which is a lame.

I stopped using Reaper because of the lack of LV2 plugins (and some other things), but I will give 6.22+ another try!

Especially on Linux, LV2 support is a deal breaker.
