Default Boss GT001 and Reamping

Hi there

I am trying to understand reamping. The way I hoped I could do it is to record both a my sound with effects and then a dry sound with the GT001. I would then like to take the dry sound and run it back into the GT001 with a different effect or the option to change the effect.

I have got the point where I have a recorded dry track along with my track with effects.

Now I want to run this dry track right back through the GT100 - I could do this by running various cables but can I not somehow do this through reaper with no changing of cables? Or have I misunderstood the principle of reamping?

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice.

you should be able to do it via usb on boss GT units which would be quicker and easier than routing out from your soundcard to the GT then back to the soundcard from the GT.

make sue the gt is plugged in via usb before you turn it on the switch it on and boot up reaper. now the gy should appear as an audio interface in reaper.

In the gt set input type to usb instead of guitar.

in reaper set the output of the guitar track to the gt

create a new trak and set the input to the gt and set it to record . You should be able to record the effected output of the guitar track

Thanks for the reply.

I can do all this and get the dry recorded sound. I cannot get the dry recorded sound to sound with an effect through the gt001 after recording.

In addition:

"In the gt set input type to usb instead of guitar."

There is no setting I can find for this. It is guitar or mic - no USB for input
