No signal on armed track, M1 Mini, Big Sur, Reaper doesn't show in mic access list
Just bought a Mac Mini (M1 chip), loaded up reaper and cannot get signal on the meter of an armed track. Google led me to a few posts about mic privacy and security and granting Reaper access to the microphone. I have an RME babyface and Axe FX III, but don't have a mic to prompt Reaper to request access, therefore it won't appear in the list for me to permit it (currently says 'Apps that have requested access to your microphone will appear here'). Anyone got any advice? I'm lost! Many thanks.
EDIT: Just plugged in my apple ear buds and added the microphone to the aggregate device, armed a track to use it and neither did it register any signal, nor did it prompt Reaper to request access from the privacy and security list. I'm really stumped now!

I've just tried using the Axe FX III or RME as a single device to no avail either. With the RME, Total Mix is receiving input but nothing registering on the Reaper track. With Axe FX, the output levels are showing fine, and I can get sound through the headphone socket...but alas, no signal on the track within Reaper.
Please help!

Update, I've been able to record signal from the RME and Axe FX III in Garage Band, both as single units and as part of the aggregate device...so this is definitely a Reaper issue. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Update: I downloaded the intel version and it works okay and I get signal now, asked for permission to access the microphone before it opened Reaper. I hope that the native M1 ARM version gets the issues ironed out so we can start using that soon. Cheers.

I am also on a M1 mac, and had the same problem, with one difference:
i got to see the "enable the microphone" prompt during the installation,
and clicked it off ( denied the enable) ...not aware that this is needed.
i now also installed the intel version, enabled the mic ( while i was not getting to see that prompt again, when re-installing the arm version),
de-installed the intel version, installed the arm version again,
and the mic enable setting is still alive, as expected.
not yet tested, but i´d guess that should do

Any updates?
Hey all,
I'm also using the ARM version, same issue here, stuck on no Mic, no Reaper on on mic access list.
Has this been solved? Or do I stay with the Intel version for now?
Thanks.

My workaround:
Installed Intel "REAPER64" version. Renamed it "REAPER". Launched it. Asked for Mic access permission, gave the permission.
Installed ARM "REAPER" version. Launched it, input is functional.

afaict this is a bug in Big Sur -- we request the entitlements as we're meant to, it just never prompts.

Was this using the Catalina build or the non-notarized Intel build?

Is this fixed by
> add NSMicrophoneUsageDescription to improve audio input support on Big Sur
in the 6.26 release?
