Default No MIDI out to my Behringer interface

Hello everyone,
Relatively new Reaper user trying to use a couple of external synths and synth modules.

I've got MIDI cables going into and out of my Behringer UMC204HD interface. I've set the MIDI device in and out preferences in Reaper to specify that interface. I can record MIDI in Reaper but can't send the data back out again to any of my synths. I can see signal hitting the MIDI in LED on the interface but nothing seems be going out. I've tried assigning output to 'All channels' and to individual MIDI channels but no luck.

I can use the recorded MIDI data to play an internal VST plugin with no problem. Note too that I do see MIDI out when using the same set up in Pro Tools 12.

Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to Reaper forums.

If I understand correctly you need to create a MIDI hardware send on the track(s) you want to send out MIDI.

Thank you for this nofish! I had tried MIDI sends too but for what ever reason didn't work at the time. However tried it again now and it's working! So thank you for this suggestion. Back to being a very happy Reaper user.

Just a quick update on this. FWIW I discovered that an occasional 'Reset all MIDI devices' does the trick. This is in Options--Preferences--MIDI Devices
Cheers!
