Default Channel Strip Focus

Hi, all, not looking to create a custom theme, just tweak a bit to accommodate my workflow.

I noticed in some of the screenshots in this forum the themes have the channel strip for the track in focus on the left side of the TCP (see iLogic V3 for an example if needed). Is there a switch to turn this on? I've dug around in the layout options and haven't found anything yet, but would love to be able to do this.

Thanks, Rob

They do this using a sort of «trick». Cockos hates this one weird trick.

What you do is dock the mixer on the left side, then shrink it down so exactly one track is shown at a time. Then there is an option that enables scrolling to the selected track. This effectively creates an «inspector view» for the TCP.

There are also scripts that try to enable this without using the Mixer, which you might find in the scripts subforum.

The problem is that you can not see the folder linked to the track at the same time like Logic does (folder + track).

A native (and complete) track inspector should be added.

Thanks, guys - I'm not at my mixing computer right now so I can't try it, but what happens if you widen the view to two tracks? Does it show the folder or only if it's the first track in the folder?

Yeah, a native inspector view would be a huge win. Devs, you listening?

I use the MCP at left of TCP as a track inspector and like it...
and
I also use Heda's VIP Track Inspector... you might want to look into that as well... and
while I'm talking about Heda VIP stuff... his VIP Mixer too!!!
Since you can run multiple tabs in the VIP Mixer, you could have a tab that showed only the folder and children for each folder section of your project

Heda's stuff gives you a 'whole new' way to use reaper...
