Default Fader faderport giving strange automation

Hi guys,

Recently I started using the Faderport classic for automating effects etc.

When using the faderport as a midi controller, when riding the fader for automation, it responds very strange. It seems like it does not recognise the fader path.
when i push the fader 1 millimetre the virtual nob spins 20 times.

So in short, it responds very strange to the fader movements. And riding automation is impossible.
Am I doing something wrong here?

I not running the faderport as a control surface, but as a midi controller/midi device.

I'm not sure how well it would work as a straight midi controller, you might have luck playing with the absolute vs relative modes when you set up the learn binding but ideally much better as a control surface:

Thanks for the quick response!

I am aware of this great custom driver for the faderport, but I just wish there was a way to midi learn the parameters in a quick way, since I mostly need it for effects automation. But maybe this is not what the machine is made for.
