Default Midi Editor - Reaper 'forgets' my edit and plays previous note

If I change a midi note in the editor and then press play, 50% of the time the change will be ignored and reaper will play the old note.

For example, if I press play when the midi editor is still open the correct note will be shown but the old one will be played. And if I close the editor and reload the section, the edit it lost.

Has anyone else ever experienced this and have any idea how to resolve?

Many thanks

Default A workaround

If anyone does run into this problem, I've found a workaround.

If after the edit, when listening to the part of the song that was changed, the change doesn't take effect (i.e. you can see the change in the midi editor but the notes are ignored during playback)...simply left click anywhere on the midi editor. This forces the change to update and you can now hear it when playing back.
