Default naiant omni mics and reaper-acoustic guitar clips

i was bored and decided to put together some sound samples for the msh-1a's which can be found at www.naiant.com. i used REAPER for the tracking and everything. no eq was applied to any track, only a light amount of compression for some tracks. these mics sound fantastic for the price @$50. just thought i'd share this.

i love your work timothy, one of the deciding factors of me getting the msh's were the samples you shared. i did this clip mostly to show that the msh's sound good even through the bluetube that doesnt have a great rep, in comparison to your great river pres which sound fantastic.

Hey thanks Matt.

I have a bluetube pre and think it gets undeserved bad rep. If one dials out the starved plate tube circuit it sounds just fine - maybe not super smooth but clean, a lot like a Mackie VLZ pre. And its tube can be handy too when you want added fuzz, heh-heh.

I have the older bluetube, the one with the black knobs and blue front plate, and i'm not sure if it sounds different from the newer model. i havent tried one of the new designs. i like the drive knob for a dirty bass sometimes.

Same here. Works great for me as a buffer for a piezo transducer and I usually dial in a bit of the tube for that.

Worked fairly fast for me the other day, but you know how servers go. Matt, you might try lightningmp3.com as a backup.

EDIT: Oops. Just saw the new link. Ah well, still...

I ordered some omnis and some cardioids, but they haven't arrived yet. The omnis sound very good.

Has anyone tried his new MSH2 versions yet?
