Default Affect of Installing V6 on settings?

Hello All,
I am in the middle of a project so will not likely install 6.0 for a bit, but had a few questions about when I do:
Basically what settings and customizations will be be preserved or lost?

-Actions and Custom Actions?
-Custom Tool Bar Buttons and Actions?
-Preferences/mouse modifier, editing settings?
-And so on

Is there a guide or help somewhere that explains how to make the transition more seamless, if that is needed? Ie, would I needed to export and save my current set of actions to preserve or will that be done automatically?

Thanks in advance for any help or links to info!

I haven't lost any settings, but common sense should still apply: back up the current install and all scripts and adjustments so you can revert back to what's working.

Thanks Greg,
I figured out how to back up actions by exporting.
Could you tell me how back up the entire install and other settings? I've never switched major versions.
So I have a system for backing up projects but not the program and settings themselves.
Thanks!

Sure thing.

So there are a few things I do.

1. I export my config file, you can find this in Preferences/General/Export configuration
2. I do the same thing for my toolbars, export their configs
3. I copy the entire Reaper directory

All three are placed in a folder titled (Reaper version Backup) I also put the install of that version in the folder and keep it in a safe place, this way if something isn't right I can go backward and have multiple ways to access my past settings.
