Default cool midi sidechain technique for mixing

This plugin lets you control filter frequencies using midi input, so you can dynamically duck an instrument across an entire song. I'm using the midi of the lead guitar to carve holes in the rhythm guitar so it will fit better in the mono mix:

You can see I'm making holes for the fundamental and the first four harmonics, maybe I should go up even higher. It works for chords as well so that's pretty cool, I've seen dynamic eq but I haven't seen anything that lets you control it with midi. You should obviously try to pick guitar tones that fit together to begin with, but this technique allows you to turn the rhythm guitar up way higher without ever masking the lead

Also, have a look at MeldaProduction's Dynamic EQs :

Can you do midi input modulation with that one?

Here's a part of the song where there are spaces between the notes, so you can see the midi velocity modulate the filter gain. This is probably a better example:

I don't think MDynamicEq can do this, it looks like that one is just keying off of the dynamics of an audio signal. I don't know why the fifth band is lagging behind like that, the gif makes it look like it's lagging more than it is but there is a split second lag I'm not sure what that's about. I'll file a bug report and see what he says

They added harmonic filters so this is a lot simpler now
