Default Record from a bus live.

I am sending track A to track B pre-fader no master send.

Track A doesn't need to heard.

Track B is being used for processing (i am using a Loop plugin on it)

How do i bus to an input for record.

Track B needs to monitor through hardware outputs.

apologies if i'm misunderstanding, but you want to record from track A to to track B?
Set track B to "Record: output" should do it

Add a send from A to B. Also uncheck send to parent in A

I have but it wont send audio from A unless input monitoring is pressed and that just enables input one on the track again

yeah, input monitoring needs to be enabled in both tracks. What you hear is dictated by whether or not you have "master send" ticked or not in each of the tracks (or by the fader if you have the send pre-fader in track A)

But if input monitoring is enabled then I’m not listening to the output after the audio is effected which is what I require. Any idea how to achieve this ?? If I could automate the input monitoring it would work but I can see how to do that

You only need input monitoring enabled on tracks where you actually want to hear what's happening on a hardware input. Record Output should just record whatever is happening after the Volume fader on that track after any hardware input is mixed with any receives and processed by any plugins and pan and volume and all that.

If, for example, you have something plugged into an interface input, and you want to record that dry input, but hear some FX on it AND record that FX signal, this is how it could go:

Set the appropriate input for Track A. Enable input monitoring and record Arm. Disable Master/Parent send and create a send to Track B.

You should now hear the input from Track A through Track B. Add whatever FX you want, and honestly it doesn't matter if those FX are on A or B. You should now hear the input from Track A through the FX via Track B. Set track B to the appropriate "Record output" option.

Hit record. Track A will record the dry input signal, and Track B will record the effected signal. Things will be weird when you try to play back from there, but at least you'll have it recorded.

But...the title...???

The track with a live input has to be record armed either way. If you don't intend on actually recording what comes out of the looper plug, then you don't need any of the "record output" stuff and track B shouldn't need to be armed.

Yea sorry the title is misleading. At the time i thought i would need to record for it to work.

Its working intermittent now but i think i have a plugin problem.

So input monitoring effects the bus sends ???
