Does anyone find some of my colors of MCP elements to be too dark such as the Fader and Pan Knob?

No, not personally. The dark fader is contrasted by the light background, and the white line of the pan knob is the only important visual cue, which is again well contrasted.

I think the Pan knob looks fine.
The only change to the Fader I would suggest is to remove the outline around it, otherwise it looks good to me.

Now... ya' see? I think the 'outline' on the fader looks good - suggests a metal 'trim' at the base of the black 'upper' element.
Different schtrokes.

We can never have to much Neve! That said, I love those meters. Looks like it would be a fresh change. The fader knob is strange with the outline. But I think you said you were gonna change that.
I like the shadow work you have so far. It makes sense. The light is coming from the upper left.
I can't wait to see all the lights. That console has pretty lights.
Lookin great man.

I think he's already making a HUGE difference. I don't expect to see the Tigers in the playoffs this year but I don't think they'll be as bad as some people are expecting. And I think for the first time in a LONG time (how long was Ausmus manager?) the players will be having fun.
Can't wait for opening day!

You poor, sad, deluded Merkins!
Is this your poor excuse for Rugby football, or your version of rounders?

I'm pretty sure the new version of Imperial will launch with Reaper 6 probably later this year.

Pure speculation judging by the fact that we are almost at v5.8, ARA in Reaper is now in beta testing and usually the first build of the new major version of Reaper is in pre-release for maybe 6 months.

Thanks but I'm unclear what makes you think this theme will end up in a Reaper release. Reaper has historically used their default theme and tweaked it.

I didn’t say the new imperial theme will be the new default theme. I simply said that I think that it will be released when v6 comes out. In my opinion they are not showing any progress on purpose.

Well I know not alot of people are going
to get that obscure reference to 1970's
american TV show 'CHiPs' starring Erik
Estrada as Panch. That being said
..@hwhalen...please....i need this in my life...
Rupert Neve has been a personal role model for me
since i discovered his work and our mutual interests.
My handle is Neve,R for
goodness sake....I wanted to resurrect
this a while ago but alas, @LucasLCS talked me out of it...

yes, I think it sets a bad precedent.
If he hadn't been active in the last year or more, I would be more likely to agree, but that isn't the case here.
You asked about starting a thread on this topic
I think it's a good idea, since it would allow most themers a chance to express their views about this.
Both you and hwhalen know how much work goes into a theme and how long it can take even when you are dedicating most if your spare time to it.
The OP generally posts several months apart.
He probably hasn't responded to requests for progress updates, demands for communication or even PMs sent offering to help because he doesn't get notifications from this forum.
I myself do not get notifications.
There is also no indication from the OP that he's OK with others making a version and distributing to everyone as can be seen in Albert's Solaris SSL thread or Silent's Reaction thread.
Hopefully, he won't mind, but what if he does?
Personally, I would lose all motivation to keep working on it or share any future themes or ideas.
I have watched this thread steadily deteriorate into a classic example of why themers should never post mockups or ideas.
I love this design to, but it's disheartening to see so little patience shown to the OP because he's not working or responding according everyone else's subjective timeline.
Between this and what's being posted in the Imperial v5 thread, it seems that sharing your theme before having a working release is just a bad idea.
.

It's one of the WALTER fonts in the theme tweaker. I can't remember which one though, I went through the list changing the font size until the track names changed size.
I've noticed an inconsistent problem - double-nested folders sometimes cover track header buttons with the track name in the TCP, but closing and opening the folder can correct it, which is weird.
Also, I miss the mono button on the master, which seems to have gone AWOL in this theme.
It does look nice though, and is generally big and clear and easy to work with.

Well, just to clarify, it wasn't in a negative way that I stated that you
talked me out of it. I respected you enough to ask your opinion, and I
listened to you. I Enjoy your work and respect you and everyone here and the following
is an opinion.
I think that at some point a developer has to know in his heart that another rendition
of an undeveloped theme is at most a tribute to his work and a statement
about exactly how much people really enjoy it. I for one would be glad that someone
cared enough to offer something to tide users over to relieve some pressure
especially with my lack of time to continue progress. Also, the Ascend theme is inspired by,
visually similar to, and a tribute to a design of AMS Neve.
With a price tag of $50-100,000, I don't think that the company would approve of derivatives
of their product, just as SSL would not approve of Albert's work in the realm
of console knock-offery, (all ver's of solaris, which through the course of development and
user feedback at the forum became less like an SSL console), but we are all appreciative
of the work of him, Lucas, Jeff, HW, WT, PyerBass, and all the others here who are comrades
in this clandestine, if you will, subculture of daw gui efficionados. The truth is, there isn't
really any work of art, whether it be a gui for a daw, or the console it's modeled after,
or any of the hit songs that the console or daw may subsequently
produce, that has not been inspired by something else. As artists, we should
always play fair, give credit where credit is due, and be accepting and
appreciative of criticism, and also, in my opinion, not be offended when
our creations are so inspiring to others that they sample, augment, and reproduce
or rework them. HW's ver of Ascend is sufficiently different
when compared with Jeff's, just as Jeff's ver is different from the AMS Neve Genesys Black.
In any event, by posting anything on the stash you are doing so to share it,
thats what the stash is for. One could argue that the dev may have wanted a donation for his work.
Maybe he planned on creating the theme just to hold it hostage until some type of payment is made
under the guise of charity...that to me is nothing more than selling. And
WT created two of the best themes in the history of this daw...and he did it sans payment or
donation. In the spirit of the Stash. And he posted a mockup simply to show the capabilities of
the ver 5 WALTER - which we have all benefitted from immensely and use. In this case, NOT posting
a mockup would have set us back quite a way in regard to theming. He (WT) asked people not to recreate
the new Imperial until it is done, and that simple request worked.
Jeff's ver of Ascend will be all his, and I still very much anticipate it, as do many I am sure, but HW's ver of
Ascend is released, an nobody can deny by looking at that theme that it has HwHalen's fingerprint on it. He put in
alot of work on it...he made the whole theme except for maybe a couple .png's
he may have cropped. That's alot of work that is going down the drain now because
of recent activity which has prompted him to take the theme down. Well I am glad I got it
on time before it's lost.
Thank you very much for your work HwHalen, on this and many other things,
as you are one of the most dedicated and
prolific member's of this community.
Regards, Never

You have a good point @sickamorz this thread belongs to @JeffSounds and so does the theme name 'Ascend'.
The theme at the stash is NOT the
Ascend theme conceptualized by
@JeffSounds and @hwhalen probably should
have changed the name but it doesn't matter now. And I would like to add atp
that I apologize if my post asking @hwhalen about the status of the release
in any way prompted him to do something
which he may now regret. And also for
adding to the footprint of the thread bulk thoughts contrary to the intent of it's creator.
