Default Csurf to an unavailable destination: Crash???

Hey guys.
I've been crashing reaper lately and I've narrowed it down to Csurf being active to an unavailable destination.

My steps to reproduce:
1- Setup a Control surface driver to a connected destination.
2- Unplug the USB cable of the Control Surface
3- Let Reaper play for a while.
4- After a while it eventually crashes

It seems that if Reaper keep communicating to an unavailable device, it eventually crashes. Is that possibe?

Here's the crash log:

Hmm what control surface mode?

How long is a while?

Does it do it with an empty project?

Hello Justin, Thanks for your time.

I've experienced the same problem last year with a csurf going to My Mackie Control. And this time, it's Toward a generic MIDI Controller I've made myself using a Teensy.
So I'm not sure if the target device has an impact on all of this.

It's very hard for me to test because it is after a long while that I experienced the crashes and I'm not sure if it is related to the playback duration or if it's related to the amount of commands. Because the testing are very time-consuming it's hard for me to find the time to troubleshoot. I've tried to crash it today using a very small project with no success. . I'll try again with the larger projects to see

Looking at the Crash logs from the other day, the "time since wake" is not always the exact same thing in the different crashlogs FWIW.
