Wonderful! I'm not sure if the Control Panel applet will work but working at all feels like progress.

Everything worked though, incl (Learning)
Wait what? are you trying to fix the exclusive editor and stuff that Roland just announsed out of support? haha
lol'ers
That is not an emergency for me personally but it would certainly be iceing on the cake on this Karbo vs Roland story.

Yep and fully removed via Device manager.
I thought I tried everything with the Samsung. Windows has a large list of Samsung printers, annoyingly not that one.
However I have just found a universal Samsung Printer driver. That might do the trick. It cannot mess up the colours, it's mono.
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/an...986/997381811/

it is however showing as compatible on Microsoft website but there is a link to the driver on that page which is broken. It might be possible that the Samsung will work with a Lexmark driver if it doesn't play ball with the Universal driver. It's been done before.

I'm not going to go back to Win10 with this version of Win Home. I'm going to fresh install Win7 Pro in the next week and get that qualified for Win 10.
I will have to get my plugin licenses confirmed again of course, which could be a PITA.

Congrat's to Karbo.
Perhaps you could send an email to Roland. Send them a bill

LOL, it did hurt a little bit. Honestly, just happy it's working. He could go to Control Panel just to see if the Roland icon shows up. I'm sure I saw in the installer where it plans on putting it there. He also may need to disable driver signing every reboot, not sure how it's done as of late since I haven't used it. Nevertheless, happy that there is at least some progress.

I started the Windows 10 update on my main machine last night then went to bed. All was well when I got up this morning, will report back if I have any issues.

Is the learning function working in Reaper, not just outside of it such as standalone Kontakt etc.?

I may be testing your driver too. I just depends on if I get my Win7 pro before Roland get their developers to do anything.

I expect everything to work as usual based on that Reaper simply works with MIDI & learning now.
I only have 1 1\2 computer so I can't stay long until you-know-what, so not going to stay and install Maschine2 etc.
And I did two reboots without the driver signing thing and the install was intact.
If you are ready and Ok with just the printer not working then, you be the boss.
The A-Pro icon shows up in control panel also and, I did not have to mess with Device Manager at all, just plain install and 'thank-you' was enough.
And let's say Roland did a driver or what ever, tough!, I am using Karbos fix just by principle! mu'hehe!

Nice to see you are happy
I am waiting for a copy of Win7 Pro now. I will convert that to 10 instead of Home. Because I'm bound to need more than 128GB of ram at some point.

Oh believe me I am! oh'hohoh! I could *censored* Karbo right now in public.
Hey! that's good news! simply because you have made up your mind! and can now settle down and stuff.
I won't do the famous B.Gates statement, but right now I am fine with 16. :P

Ps, Think Karb simply ment the 'app on the control panel though, but just incase, don't sweat about the editor for my sake since most DAWs can learn anyway.
Just saying.

I never used the additional software myself. I feel for people that want that though, and for those with older keyboards that aren't supported properly anymore. Hopefully they have the option of a standard Windows driver mode too. Or can have their drivers receive the Karbo treatment (or similar).

Teach all of us to steer clear of Roland.
An awful lot of "NO" in this list now:
http://www.roland.com/support/support_news/250024

Well done Roland, you really understand customer loyalty, NOT!

As long as temporary CC assignment works and the keyboard and controls work as expected I'm as happy as a pig in the proverbial..

Karbo did explain all this before in a bit more educated way and I am myself compatible with his answer and I am limiting myself to gear that is on the shelves and maby even gear that can be fixed reasonably 'easy' by them if that is the case, then I can maby whine a little even if it is a fruitless whine garden.

MS is a software company and Roland maby not! and if Roland is a minority this year with 10-support, not my fault and there are others that is going to support 10 even if it is clearly a gizmo that has reached it's yode-ley-you-ho!

Also, me whining after getting help feels wierd so I will leave that part in your capable hands. heh
This has to be my last is all i'm saying.

I only moan that Roland didn't get it working on day one.
They are not a cottage industry company, they are a corporation with 3000+ employees.

Cakewalk forum guys are also finding working solutions, indeed they sent them to Roland!

It's ok Softie, I won't stop you really, just myself and that is not me saying you are wrong either.
Some react like no tomorrow, others just Pft! and Karb helped me to Pft! a little easyer.
I am tempted to check if their brand new shiny stuff have 10-support.

For how many people, and for what kinds of people,
and for how long
is a new Windows version usable and manageable and fixable?

A few.

For the many, it is a form of slavery.

Percentage-wise, how many people have the experience of an expert to customize and manage their Windows details, test all their drivers, be selective about their settings, optimize performance, deal with the bloat and the many inconsistent and shitty interfaces, keep it all stable and limit Windows spying?

One in ten thousand?
One in a million?

It's your money. Roland make decent stuff, I like the A-800. Buy their gear and employ someone to hack it to make it work!

'Ole!-'ole'ole-'ole.. + *super advanced 'high 5' thing (what ever it's called)
And I see the boxed 10 is arriving earlyer than the rumour said so, nice timing.
And officially, Karbo was faster! mu'ehehe.
Congrats Softie for the small victory one though that did come through in the end.

Small victory?
Somehow I doubt that my kicking up a tiny stink via forum posts lead to a Japanese corporation hurriedly producing those drivers.
Then again maybe they got some tips on how it's done from Karbo!

Yes,
