Default ReaSonus One [ALPHA2]

UPDATE: I've updated the alpha theme to be the alpha2 version. This one has all new icons that I recreated in vector form, so they're a bit clearer than the old theme. This also has the dual pan fader implementation.

1. The master TCP is completely empty right now. Haven't had time to lay it all out.
2. I haven't touched media items or envelope tracks at all yet.
3. I haven't touched the midi editor at all yet.

Well done! I'm a Studio One fan .... you're doing a good job. I believe you know that S1 toolbar icons when selected are electric blue and not green, so it may be an additional input. The transport bar is also different but I think you already have an idea of what to do. Nice idea ...... don't give up. Thank's for your job.

Next thing I do will be the MCP - I wanna clean it up and use WALTER to make it look more like Studio One.

This is where I got up to tonight. It isn't clear to me right now if I can do a better pan control, like a filmstrip of some kind.

Also, I was trying to remove the background colour for the pan read out, and couldn't do it. Will have to investigate why tomorrow when my brain is less fried!

Looks like you're off to a great start! It's too bad that the transport can't have all that in Reaper!

Interesting!

I have started working on the same idea just little time ago (but so far I have only completed TCP and theme tweaker colors).. now I am wondering if it would be redundant if I go on

ha ha! Great minds think alike!

I'd offer to combine forces, but I sorta wanted to do this project as a way to learn WALTER from scratch. Don't let me stop you though!

Haha for me it's also my first theme from scratch and I wanted to learn doing proper WALTER with it.
Currently I just don't have that much time to work on it so you will probably progress faster.

But I do think we could find some way to collaborate and get the best out of two minds. If you are interested in any of my WALTER, images or have questions about my approach feel free to ask me. I have created only 100% images though (no 150% or 200%). And I am not planning multiple layouts (trying to keep it simple), though that might change.

Or maybe we can just work independently on our versions first (and maybe help eachother out with technical struggles) and at the end see which one does what better and perhaps merge the themes into One (pun intended) or create different alternatives for different tastes or take good parts from eachother and mod them into out own vision etc.. I'm open for everything

...good guys! Join forces and a nice theme will come out. Inspiration gave me an input to try to make a splash screen .... Of course, if you agree ....

Looking good. As a StudioOne user as my primary I will be watching this.

Im one that actually like the look of S1. Way less clutter than Cubase here for sure.

I need a reason to switch to Reaper full time. Make it happen HAHA

On a side note, that first prototype of the theme you have on the original post also looks nice besides being pretty barebones x) Mind sharing it?

Man, that knob stack stuff is really cool! Took me a while to work-out how to do the Studio One TCP fader, but I got there.

Things to do:

- Create dynamic layouts for the TCP and MCP (the master is dynamic, but the others aren't yet)
- Make the input and phase appear at the top of the MCP when the MCP is above a certain height.
- Add meters to TCP.
- Add input selector to TCP.
- Add Inserts power and inserts button to TCP.
- Decide whether to include pan and/or width - Studio One doesn't have them in the TCP.
- Folder indentations and folder icon.

Cool. Tcp vol is nice. I hope you will not have a problem with the transparency color for that. And the pan knob is created with knobman in 4 steps whit 2 images. And also the backgroud volume mcp can be done without problem. Your transport is awesome

Nice work Drew! I'd definitely recommend you look to include the secondary pan controls on the MCP at least. It's been a huge pet peeve of mine for forever that Studio One doesn't have this baked right in and they want you to use the dual pan plugin.

Hey Chris,

If I right-click the pan and set it to dual pan this is what it currently looks like:

I haven't yet done the knob stacks for these yet, but my plan is to try and copy the Studio One pans as closely as possible.

I had thought about this too when I was working on my version and my idea was that Studio One's "channel editor" button could be used as a width knob in Reaper (screenshot from actual S1 as I haven't worked on the MCP yet):

It would keep the MCP more S1 looking while not sacrificing Reaper's functionality.

Edit:
Tough that would perhaps not be ideal when using dual pan..

My approach to tcp folders has been to use the track type icon as folder button. It works however only in combination with the SWS auto color/icon/layout window action.

That's exactly how I feel - Studio One for music and being in a 'creative' headspace, and Reaper for work and more involved projects where I need a ton of features.

I'm hoping this theme will bridge the gap - and the reality is, for making tunes, I don't need a lot of features. I just need a theme that doesn't make my eyes bleed!
