Trouble theming with the rtconfig.txt file
Hi gang,
Based on the instructions here:
http://www.houseofwhitetie.com/reape...dit_def_5.html
I'm running into the same problem over and over.... I'm sure I'm missing a step or something. I'm on a Mac.
When I extract the rtconfig.txt file by adding a dot to this zip: Default_6.0.ReaperThemeZip
I get this when I refresh Reaper (by toggling themes):
Here is what the unzipped "Default_6.0.ReaperThemeZip" looks like:
Even if I rename the above files by removing "_unpacked" I still get the same seemingly unlinked graphics issue.
Any ideas where I'm going wrong?
Thanks.
Andrew K

Hi Andrew
Where exactly is your Default_6.0_unpacked folder and Default_6.0_unpacked.ReaperTheme file?
You have to make sure that they are in the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\ColorThem es folder and not still in the Default_6.0.ReaperTheme folder that is sometimes created when you unpack them.

Open theme/tweaker
Make sure "Image resource path" matches unpacked theme image folder
Reload images, save.

Isn't that the packed theme Odys?
Andrew has unpacked his and therefore the theme will no longer end with zip.

Thanks guys,
I’ll give Odys’ path trick a go this weekend.
Although, I do remember messing with the Reaper Default 5 theme and not having to do this.
Is V6 different in this regard?

Thanks... ok... I got it to work!
Newbie questions though, how do I re-pack the zip file when I'm finished doing all my changes? Do I zip the assets folder and the theme file into one zip and then just remove the dot? I can't seem to go back to the non-editing mode
Thanks for all your help guys.
Cheers,
Andrew K

Just zip the .ReaperTheme-file and the image folder, and then rename the file into "Whatever.ReaperThemeZip".

I would question the requirement for zipping back up again unless you wanted to share it.
I just leave my edited theme as a folder and a theme file. And the main reason for that is, you have never finished tweaking your theme
