Default VST punch in and out

Hi and just wondering if there is a way to punch-in a VST and punch-out a VST for say just a measure or two? (on a single track) thank, Andrew

Several. The crude way is to automate the bypass of the plug. Better might be to automate the wet/dry control for a bit of a fade rather than an abrupt pop. Some folks might split the item and put the VST as an item FX. It would kind of depend on everything else which of these is best in a given situation.

Thanks don't know how to do any of that stuff so guess making a new track with those measures in it with the FX I want is the way I'll keep doing it. Ok I knew it was a tall order when I posted it, thanks again all. Andrew

You should take a look at the Reaper manual! Wet/dry is explaned in chapter 6.16 and very useful. Automation of wet/dry (or any other plugin parameter) is explained in chapter 18. Very worth reading!
