Question about hearing sound during recording

Hello everyone I'm so glad Reaper has a forum.. I have been using the software for a few weeks and ran into a problem.. When I record my first track there's not a problem, heres my problem.. I can't hear the next track I record at the same time as I record.. I am using a set of Roalnd vdrums and plugging into the soundcard directly.. Everything I play on the second track records fine but I cant monitor the sound.. Is there something I'm missing?? I have been thru the FAQ and alot of other posts but didn't see the question asked.. Thats for the help

Input monitoring is a deep and painful subject in computers, thanks to the NON - recording types who seem to make so much of this software, pre-reaper

Do you know where the monitoring buttons are on each track?

Put them set to "on " and see if that changes anything
