Default What do the letters PC mean on a media item

I was comping a drum track and everything seemed fine. I changed the rate of a measure at the end to try to get a ritard. I changed my mind and just inserted another measure, again, at the end of the track. Then I glued it together.

Now the track is out of time starting at measure 28. And the letters PC are on the media item.

Anyone know what this means? Anyone know a solution? Besides start over again?

Thanks.

If it's MIDI, probably there's a Program Change message in it? If it's audio and the rate is changed, just open the item properties and set playrate back to 1.

Welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the reply and the welcome.

Program Change makes sense. It is adding drums that aren't in the original file. I don't know why but I will have to come up with a workaround.

Is there any kind of technical assistance guru at Cockos that you can send a question to?

Thanks again.

In preferences/project there are the backup settings. If it's set up correctly, you'll have backup files in the directory listed there. If not, set it up. This way you can go back to old versions to fix problems that may arise. This is usually as simple as opening both projects in tabs and copying original tracks/items etc to the new project.

If it's a program change, find it in the CC lanes at the bottom of the MIDI editor.

The forum's here to assist you.

Perhaps you could compress a simple project file with the MIDI clip (no audio samples needed) into a ZIP file and post it here as an attachment so that we can have a look at it and give you the best advice?

How to post attachments (in Post #1)

There are 2 (3?) Reaper architects / designers / developers and hundreds (thousands?) of helpers here.
