Default Insert empty space into selection

Is there a way to Insert empty space into selection that also moves later items? There's an option to remove selection (moving later items), but not with the empty space... I did a search, but found nothing... I have audio, markers, and time signature markers. It's proving to be quite a pain to insert a space into the project. Any suggestions?

Okay... I must be an idiot! I don't see that option. I'm right clicking on the timeline, and I get "insert empty space in selection" and "remove contents of selection (moving later items)"...

Um, go to Actions menu (press '?'), then search for the above command.

Then use the menu customization to add that command to timeline context menu

Default But What If You Only Want The Space On One Track?

The suggestions above insert space across all the tracks. What if I just want to erase or insert spaces on one track, e.g. take out segments of the drum track only without changing the actual position of the track at all?

I don't know if you have looked this up but checkout Ripple Editing.

If it's off then deleting one part of a track will leave an empty space

If it's on For one track then deleteing opne part of one track will cause the rest of the track to move forwards.

If it's on FOR ALL TRACKS then deleteing one part of one track will cause all the tracks to move forwards together.

It's been most useful to me when I've decided for example that I wanted to add a turn round between verses.
