Default Video effects - pr track RGB color

Hi there

Anyone knows how to colour video in Reaper?

I'm trying to make three video-tracks (red, green, blue) and then blend, cut between them. I was trying the colour option in the video-processor plugin but can't match clean 'RGB' colours.

Thank you.

I've attempted and failed to create this earlier in the year. What I wanted to do was have a video exclusively red/green/blue and add a slight position offset to each for a simple bad vhs effect.

We got a new function more recently that will turn black into transparent, it may be possible to get that working on R/G/B now

Don't you know the new colorize preset that comes with reaper? Only bad aspect is, it doesn't allow to change the wetness of the coloring. Beside that its a very nice way to color videos.

Edit: ok, as i see now, you already tried out the preset. Don't know how to help you any further than that.

Thanks for the replys.
I just tried again and can't get the desired effect - perhaps as much because of my lack of knowledge

I wanted to (opacity?) blend three videos in red/green/blue so that the static background looks 'normal' - only the 'difference' (eg. poeple moving around) would have only one of the colours (R/G/B).

Hi Winfield, i guess that's exactly what Jon from Reaperblog has tried to achieve. An extreme example of that effect would look like this:

The problem is, you can't just create three tracks with semi transparent R, G, and B videos to layer them, because they would add up to something different then the above image. To achieve this we probably need more blend modes like in Photoshop or Premiere.

If you wanted to create something quite different from the picture above please find a photo with google which shows it more precisely. It would help to know, if its possible or not.

And if you don't know how to post pictures, use the bbcode ...

I'm pretty sure it can be done but only with knowledge of the scripting language used in the video processor.

Maybe someone reads this and tries to get it done. I'm also interested in every video aspect because i use it a lot to create projects with kids. Every new effect is highly appreciated, and video blend modes are badly missed (and should be pretty standard).

If i find time i will take a look if a work around is possible. But that's not a promise.

Greetings
Eli
