Default For a Poor programmer's guide and Mac

When one is with solvency problems, it must coexist with its old Mac (pre 2012) and can not update it to the latest operating system of Apple.

Is it possible to compile plugs Au a virtual machine?

Is it possible to compile Au plugs in an online virtual machine?

I do not want to deal with a hackintosh.

* Solvency problems does not imply not being a Patreoner

What Mac, specifically, pre-2012? How far "pre"?

From apple's list, it looks like late-2009/mid-2010 computers are supported. (I'm running an early 2009 Mac Pro; I updated the firmware to match mid-2010, and it runs High Sierra fine.)

You seems to imply that you can't compile AUs because of this. Why not?

If you really need the latest and greatest Xcode, there's a patch around, from a guy that goes by the moniker "Dos-dude". See here:

http://dosdude1.com/highsierra/

That will allow to install HS on your Mac Pro.

Search the internet to learn how to upgrade an early 2009 Mac Pro to High Sierra. That's what I did.

I'm still not clear on why you need High Sierra to compile an AU plugin, but that's the solution to "can not update it to the latest operating system of Apple."

"ElCapitan", XCode 8.2.2, wdl-ol and Intel IPP (free) do not work for some reason that I do not know.

All the information tells me, that I should update.

It might not be your best option, but as you specifically asked for it: You can run High Sierra on a VM. At least from a Windows 10 system this works pretty well.

Thanks, I was able to configure Ipp and build my plugins.

Anyway, I plan to try a virtual machine.
