Default "choose new file" -- en masse

if you have a single item that is split up, you cant just select the source item and have it replace it - you have to by hand choose new file for each item...

What i propose is to have the choose new file button be ACTIVE when you select items en masse.

This way we can change the source file for a number of items (that all reference the same file)

at once.

its a basic feature in vegas...

why not reaper?

Jason,

you're reading my mind..

i just wanted to ask this - i'd need to do this quite often, but i cant do it in Reaper..

the only way i can do this is to render my new file with the SAME NAME as the file used in the session - and rename the 'old' file (as a backup). but its hazardous, imo.

so i need to stick to Ve..

c'mon. its a MUST in Reaper.

thx

I have put in requests a number of times for item properties to be changed so that multiple items can be selected and have their source file changed in common. This would cover the case where you only want a subset of files to change

a simple example would be where you have the same bass drum at 128 locations and want to change every fourth one, or only change in the choruses

At the moment single item properties and multiple item properties are unecessarily different. (antother eg - you can't change pan on multiple items using item properties)

but a problem arises if you only want some of them altered - then it is back to altering each one individually
