Default V4 Default Theme, TCP contrast

I really like the v4 default theme but still find it harder to work with compared to the v3 theme. The MCP I find is nice and legible but the TCP still seems a little washed out.

Any opinions on a tweak in this direction? This isn't a mockup btw.

Left: Default now, Right: Tweaked

+4.07

Tweaked TCP is subtly but significantly better.

Default v4 theme is my favourite of all time (so far..). Any positive tweaks such as this would be warmly welcomed here.

Hi AdamWathan,
Your tweaked one is looking better, but to me the whole theme can't compete with the default theme of Reaper V3 cause of ergonomic aspects!
As I wrote in another thread....I don't understand, why washed out areas with low contrasts should be easy for the eyes. And I really don't understand the aesthetics behind that, except to look like the very noble and serious homepage of a bank or a big company!
A default theme has to be for shortsighted, farsighted, older and younger people!
It has to be functional for everyone, if then is some place for aesthetics...fine!

Tweaked looks better here too, one thing I would say though is that some kind of mild indicator for selected tracks would be great (especially when using coloured tracks).

Maybe a vertical line that comes up just on the right edge of selected items.

I use to have this in my own basic theme and it worked wonders

I really like the lighter fader backgrounds! Helps the track name to stand out.

I like the version on the right much better. Let's hope that this makes it in!

Sure, still lots of tweaks I will probably want to do but here it is with the bolder font, different fader background and higher contrast label backgrounds:

Thanks for sharing that Adam.

Can anyone explain how I can transfer all my theme editor color preferences from one theme to another? I thought maybe I could copy/paste into the "color theme" section of my reaper.ini file but I'm obviously doing something wrong since that doesn't seem to work. That section of the file appears to be exactly the same no matter which V4 theme I had loaded.

Is there an easy way to do it?
