Default "Create folder with selected tracks"

Would really like to be able to select tracks 1-4 and hit a shortcut button or a right click option that would create a folder track for the selected tracks.

When you have snare top/snare bottom. You just highlight the 2 tracks and hit your shortcut key and it makes a new folder track that contains those 2 tracks.

Also, an option in prefs for "Default Folder Track Color".

A must for:

Kick in/Kick out
Snare top/Snare bottom
Overhat/Override
Room L/Room R
Guitars
Bass Hi/Low/DI

ETC..... What do you guys think? Again, the first thing you do when you open up a mix is listen, pan, then start subbing.

That whole downloading extension stuff, is not the greatest. Especially since it ads no value to cockos. But thanks, I'll try with extensions(which imo I should have to download some 3rd party not officially supported library). At the end of the day, imo its whats downloaded in the official cockos package that matters as to the value of the product.

But thank you.

I agree this should be a part of the default package. You can create a macro for it though. I simply had to spend around 15 minutes to figure out how, some trial and error, and eventually lose connection with the musicality of the project. But yeah I got it to work.

Yeah I also have a macro for this and use it very very often! Mine even automatically sets me up to name the new folder track so I can just run the macro and start typing the name of the submix, extremely handy.

I had one that did that exact thing a month or so ago ... but amid an OS re-install it's now gone ... can't work out how to do it again

Do you mind posting?

Im using track templates to just have things setup in advance. They are huge timesavers.
