Default A few Reascales

Part 1

Basic Reascale

Two versions. One is edited to fit the screen better. One is more complete, but your need to scroll to see all the scales.
https://stash.reaper.fm/8066/ZD-basic-edited.reascale
https://stash.reaper.fm/8065/ZD-basic.reascale

And one with just the Chords.
https://stash.reaper.fm/8067/ZD-Chords.reascale

Part 2 coming up.........

I could rustle up a grouped one maybe.
Would take a while, and a lot of the scales are known under several different names, so I would expect arguments over names.
The current organisation is to my own liking, so I'm just sharing it.

Pentatonic is 5 note in the complete version.
I like the scales to have as easy access as possible.
Whats Demonic? It was a hell of a job.

How would you split eastern and minor, some would be both.
Feel free to hack your own version though, its a big resource

Install the one you want. Editing them is pretty easy.
Or keep reloading them depending what you want to use at the time.
More spice to come.

A preview function for each scales (and chords) snap would be great. This is a Reaper FR! Would be nice to audition all these wonderful scales with a single click.

Oh, and thank you Zappa!

Part 4

And finally, total scale madness:-

Only for those really scale mad Reaper users.
https://stash.reaper.fm/8075/ZD-Ultimate.reascale
Completely over the top.

I do feel some Chord madness might be in order in a week or two.

And for the Devs.
Could you please, please allow the Scale/Chord name box grow to fit the name.
some of these scale are just to big!! but I can't see a way to shorten them sensibly.

Now how about adding scale/chord function to ReaControlMidi ?

There is also a small weird bug in the naming of scales.
"Trichord" appears as Tr
chord with a small c cuts off "chord" and the letter before it.
"TriChord" with a capital C shows correctly as TriChord.
Nit picking really.

Agreed! This should be done. Ideally the button should be a bit bigger from the start, but auto-resizeable would also work!

since this is in the pre-release forum, can i assume these scales are a v4-exclusive feature? or is there a way to install/use them in 3.75?

Click where it says load at the bottom of the list of scales. You just need them all in the application data/Reaper/data - Folder.

In the application data/Reaper/data - Folder.

The key T brings the transpose box in the midi editor, and use them from there.
Or click the check box to left Scale at the bottom of the midi editor.
Click on where it says major and you should see "load" at the bottom

Is there any practical use for the scales files for those that do not enter notes (or edit them) using the mouse?

that's melodic minor[edit: harmonic, not melodic] (with F being the root note in your example)
or phrygian dominant (with C being the root)

I use this type of scale more often than any other.
