Default Multiple outputs for VSTi's

Just tried BFD All (which has 17 output channels - three stereo pairs and 11 mono channels) in Reaper 1.10.

As far as I can tell from the mixer and routing page, all I was getting was a single stereo output. What plans are in place to allow me to apply separate processing to multiple outputs from a VSTi?

You already can. All you have to do is create new tracks for each VST output you want to process separately, set that track to receive from the VSTI track and choose the channel. Then, from the VST page, click on the "out" button to route the VST output of your choosing to that channel.

I also suggest to create a "parent" track for your drums, that way you can hide all those tracks from track view so it help keep clutter to a minimum and it also give you a master fader for the drums on top of the individual faders for each part.

OK - thanks for the pointers. Are there any plans to automatically add the necessary mixer tracks?

to see a great implementation of multiple outputs, check out acid 6. It is, by far, the best yet

REAPER follows, however. But it can be more complex at times...

I can't attest for how nicely acid handles it, but samplitude and sonar do it quite nicely. Each vsti's output shows up as an input. Nothing too different from REAPER there, really.

Auto-creation of output channels might be useful to some, but sonar-style track templates would be way cooler and cover more cases. Just load up your fav BFD template, it creates all necessary tracks and maybe some busses, and you're good to go.
