Default Is there any reason to save more than one or two previous versions of Reaper?

I've got versions going back to 552_x64 and I'd like to delete all but the last three from my Music Folder. Are there any reasons why I shouldn't?

Thank you

Every single version that's ever been is available to download from this link:

https://www.reaper.fm/download-old.php

So no need to keep them locally unless you wish to. Either way they don't take up much space.

I can't think of any. Previous versions are also available on the website.

I've always kept at least a couple of the latest around in the event I can't get to the net, be that something local with my system, or internet apocalypse. They are tiny size wise so no big deal.

I can’t imagine why you would keep a single previous version. The devs are very careful about backwards compatibility and making sure that old projects won’t break in new versions. It doesn’t totally work in the opposite direction, though. I’ve noticed that projects saved in newer versions frequently throw errors when opened in older versions. I can never be sure what the problem is, but it never seems to affect anything important. Shrug.

It's just me.. I'm not OCD on this.. just cautious. I always like to have at least one previous version to go to in case of "whatever" - and I feel better about having that one version in my folder in case I can't get online. Nothing has occurred with Reaper, but I have had the need to install earlier versions of some items, or at least reinstall the current version to unscramble things. It's just an "absolutely, positively, just in case" thing. Sometimes I even make a copy of the current version to use in case the original becomes corrupted from my end somehow.

Right, for a measly 12MB who the hell cares anyway?

I mean, I guess I never clear out my Downloads folder, so they’re all still there...
