Default Using NinJam in Live Performance mode

We got a request for remotely doing a kind of live performance in houses like homes for the elderly. Her a nice idea would be to use NinJam (and Reaper) as a "public address" engine, using avoice chat channels. The audio quality of NinJam by far outperforms telephone, Skype or Zoom or similar products.

This easily could be done, if it would be possible to have NinJam automatically connect when starting up the Reaper project unattendetly.

Any chance to do this ?

This will not be possible with video or any other app running.NINJAM is delayed for a long time in purpose. This to account for the longest latency time. Which could be 100msec for example. The video would lag significantly.

A video connection is not required.

I just wanted a normal session started when the machine is booted.

Hi Michael,

I have successfully used the ancient v0.06 NINJAM Windows client from 2005

https://www.cockos.com/ninjam/downlo...client_006.zip
(found at the very bottom of https://www.cockos.com/ninjam/)

as a lightweight way to listen in without using REAPER.

You have to enter the server and login info once, but have to 'connect' and join the room each time the program is started. I couldn't get the command line version to work (maybe it's too old), but it would be neat for a computer to simply connect to an existing session on startup...

MusicMan74,
thanks for the tip, the command line (text version) is running fine in Windows 7 Pro 32bit actually. Using .BAT file to run it with all the required parameters works like a charm. (Metronome has to be muted manually for the first time, then it is remembered).

Good for total unattended operation of receivers!

Hints:
No cclicense.txt on server side otherwise it will stop unattended starting (sp don't forget to comment out that line in CFG).
Also anonymous access cannot be used (specific user/pass needed).

Glad you got it working.

I was trying to listen in on a public server (i.e. connect anonymously) which appears to not be supported. Maybe some kind soul will update the software to support this.

Thanks.
