Default Untitled theme (WIP)

Hello world! this is my first proper theme attempt, it's only at the mockup stage now, but I'm planning to make it fully featured eventually.
This is what I've got so far:

A few things I'm unsure about:
  • Is my fader design actually going to be possible with WALTER? Obviously I've been quite heavily inspired by Bitwig's UI, and the fader is my favourie part, so I really want to make it work
  • Ideally I want the solo outline to override the mute outline, but am not sure how to go about it
  • How do I order elements in WALTER so they can overlap in the correct way?

Yep, check out the section on knob stacks on page 28 of the WALTER guide. I'm not sure if a stretchable stack could be done (couldn't really wrap my head around it if it is possible), but I did a very similar fixed-height fader recently.

Edit: here's a super quick example I just threw together in KnobMan:

Page 22 deals with z-order. In your case it would be:
Code:
front mcp.mute mcp.solo
(assuming you wanted mcp.mute behind mcp.solo, but still in front of other elements... otherwise it can be excluded completely)

The knob stacks aren't stretchable unfortunately.
But you can use pink line for "hacking" fader. Check Seventh's theme ReaLax, for example.

Another minimal theme, nice! I really like the fader & meters. You can check out my theme for the fader "hack" as mentioned above. Basically you need to cover the bottom of the MCP with an element that's above the fader.

EDIT: with TCP I of course ment MCP :P

Interesting start, I'm looking forward to seeing how this develops, especially the TCP.

Looks good, please don't leave it in the middle. It takes helluva time and effort to create a theme. I know from experience and I see a few who came up with excellent idea but never finished. Looking forward to it.

Sorry for the delay on the theme, I've decided to redo part of my mcp to make it more functional, this means lots of changing coordinates, redoing images etc I'll try to have the mcp finished by next weekend

Right, here's the (almost) finished mcp

I'm not sure how to get rid of the top and bottom of the fader, as I've not got many elements that support overlays left to hide each end. The ideal solution would be to have two buttons that support overlays, and change file when the track is selected, that way, they can blend perfectly in with the background

You can use meter_ol_mcp.png with yellow lines.

Will I be able to order the mcp_meter_ol to go behind the track label though, I know the meter has a higher refresh rate than other elements, so is always on top, but is it the same for the overlay?

No.

In this case instead of meter_ol_mcp use the meter_bg_mcp.
This one works with Z order. For more info page 30 and 33 of watler_themes_guide.pdf
