Default Unreliable VST and Bridging

Hi,

I have 3 third-party VST's which crash 'now and then'.
I really do like to use them sometimes however.

Today I found out about the "run as ... " feature.

I have however still 2 questions:

-1-
In the manual I read that "The global option for plugin bridging was removed in REAPER 6.33".
As I can't set the global setting anymore, what will the result be when a plugin "run as..." is set to "Default(set in Prefs/VST)"?
-I assume Reaper will choose 'Native' when possible and 'Dedicated' or 'Seperate' otherwise, am I correct?

-2-
Will the settings made in a Plugin loaded 'Seperare' or 'Dedicated' be saved in the same way as when a plugin is loaded 'Native'.
In other words; Can I still rely on Reaper correct saving my edits?

Thanks,
Michiel

1. I assume REAPER will choose Native unless Dedicated or Separate is explicitly chosen.

2. Yes, settings will stay the same whichever "Run as" mode is selected.

where does one set the default for the way plugins are loaded (separate, dedicated and native) ?

because there's a 'default' in that context menu when clicking on the fx in the add fx browser.

it's one of those settings i once found but i can't seem to find the setting anymore.

Looking at an old portable install of REAPER 5.99, under Preferences -> Plug-ins -> Compatibility there is a drop-down list of options for VST bridging/firewalling. That might be the thing which was removed in v6.33. It isn't there any more in 6.65 anyway.
