Has the forum slowed down again?
It's painfully slow for me, how about you.

It's much better right now, less then 20 minutes later.

It could be server performance. Since people from completely different geographical locations see the same delay it's likely at or close to the server. It could be user load, it could be something else on the server entirely. Interestingly though the highest use count in the forum history was just about 1 month ago so it's busier than the past...

No probs here.
I do notice a slowdown every few weeks. Think that's the net, not Cockos' servers. It never lasts longer than an hour or so.
In fact, this is one of the most reliable and fastest forums I know.

Yep, here too. But seems to be going better now.
Maybe you should post earlier Tod?

It's been running fine until the last little while.

It is but as I said if not the server it has to be closer than farther because people from vastly different geolocations see the same delays. It could be as simple as the router/firewall nearing memory or CPU limits whathaveyou. It could also be someone scanning/poking to get in banging up the router resources, had this happen on my home router just the other day.

Exact same here Tod - twas crawling 20 mins ago. In fact the previous time you posted mentioning this, it was the same here too. It's therefore not local to you (or me), so I'm guessing that it's server-load or some kind of coding inefficiency ... or somethin'. karbo (and cyrano) knows more about this kind of thing than I would.

That's because it isn't slow right now, it comes and goes.

This forum is running on an AWS instance. So it's not even sure we are connecting to the same location. For me, it's an instance that's located in Ashburn. I believe that is in Virginia.
The route to Ashburn might be different, depending on where you are located. Amazon should have enough resources, I think. They've been having problems lately, though. A few weeks ago, all AWS instances for a large part of the USA were down for several hours, fi.
Of course, a traceroute to 194.187.168.100 doesn't reveal a thing, as this is an AWS load balancer. I'm over 64 hops away* and haven't seen any slowdowns lately.
That's why I see no reason to suspect it has anything to do with the AWS server instance itself.
*If traceroute isn't being fooled by the NSA's mighty vacuum aspirator

There's no way to know based on what you've posted, and there's no real "why" in your post. I'm not claiming it's the server but I am claiming it's probably closer than farther from it. Next time it occurs and I catch, I'll just wireshark the requests and follow up.
