Thank you for the fix!
There's one more glitch happening under similar circumstances. If you click on a previously selected note the bezier tension changes by itself:

This on 10.14?
The Eucon (plug-in at least) seems to be incompatible with the hardened runtime in 10.14. You can use the unnotarized build, which should work.

OK. Well for now try the x86_64_un.dmg and it should work. But something fishy is going on with the eucon plug-in, I think.

Ugh, I figured it was only a matter of time before the Eucon plugin stopped working. Anyways I can confirm that x86_64_un.dmg is working fine.

First time testing the Reaper 6 Orc2.
Great work guys! Overall I really like the look.
Perhaps this should be posted in the Reaper V6 Default Theme - RC1 thread.
Please let me know if so.
Question.
Is it possible to adjust and change the track fader color to two gradient colors in the theme editor?
I have it like that in the "default nitpicky edition" theme in Reaper 5.
Two small theme errors noticed, using fresh portable install, Win 7 Ultimate x64.
1
When the Master track is visible but not selected in the TCP it has the exact same dark color as the surroundings and blends in with the toolbar above it.
Shouldn't it be a dark border around it, or a darker color for the Master track?
2
In the TCP the text for volume, pan and width are not under the buttons/sliders. When adjusting the TCP they are a bit all over the place.

I have yet to try rc2 but I noticed in rc1, opening items in an external editor (RX6 Adv. here) does not set items offline in REAPER. This causes RX6 to refuse to save the modified file because it is still in use by REAPER.

The new auto-stretch timebase does not appear to be compatible with MIDI items:
* New stretch markers get added when the timebase is first set to auto-stretch, but aren't removed when the timebase is changed to something else. In the case of audio items, the stretch markers are automatically removed.
* Each time the timebase is set to auto-stretch, new markers get added on top of the previous ones.
* The stretch markers cannot even be removed by Actions.
* MIDI, by default, will auto-stretch, so stretch-markers aren't actually necessary, and don't do anything. Instead of adding stretch markers, the new timebase should simply apply the default MIDI behavior. In case "Ignore project tempo" is enabled for one or more of the MIDI items, REAPER can pop up a message box asking whether it should be disabled, equivalent to the message box for audio items that asks whether the item is already mapped to project tempo changes.
While I'm on the topic of the message box... The text currently reads:
Quote:
Are the media items already mapped to project tempo changes?
If yes, stretch markers will be added to maintain timing.
If no, timing will change to match project tempo changes.
|
Perhaps the text should make it clear that stretch markers will also be added "if no".

This seems to be a new v6 thing, when recording space bar no longer stops.
Can anyone confirm?

Just a Noob question: What's the difference between the two MacOS installers reaper60rc2_x86_64.dmg and reaper60rc2_x86_64_un.dmg? The application files seem to be the exact same bit size. Thanks!

On windows 10 i experianced a bug:
No Pan Knob on the TCP, i can se the word "center" but the knob isn't there.
Also i'm wondering if it's possible with this version to have 1/8 patterns in the metronome, this is insanely useful when working at slow tempo, especially when recording drummers.
Actually i use a "midi click" on a looping midi item, but i think it's more practical to have the option in the built-in metronome.
BTW i'm testing this on a portable install and i'm really pumped and ready to put my money on the table for the second time
Cheers from Italy!

Probably more a nitpick.
Someone reported to me recently, that tooltips, made with API-function TrackCtl_SetToolTip are too small on Retina displays.
Would there be a way to increase the size to keep it helpful in Retina-displays?
Don't know, which Reaper-version had been used, so I can't answer that, unfortunately and I can't verify it without a Retina-Mac at hand...

MIDI Editor - window corruption when docking and un-docking
Hello I've been able to reproduce a bug I posted about the MIDI Editor window in 6.0rc2.
Link to thread: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=227365
What I did to produce the bug in rc2:
1. Open reaper and a empty new project
2. Create new track, draw a empty midi item
3. Double click the MIDI item which opens MIDI editor window
4. Dock the MIDI Editor
5. Un-dock the ME
6. Close the ME
7. Double click the midi item to open ME
Result - title bar confusion and can't click the title bar buttons (look there are actually two title bars):

Ugh
From my perspective there is nothing even remotely new in Nibbles. Even tried the Konami code. Nothing.

Is theme tweaker deprecated now? The action doesn't do anything anymore. And what's this new theme color editor called?

Icons in Reaper 6.0 rc2
Hi, guys!
I'm testing now Reaper v6.0rc2 - November 22 2019.
I can 't understand where the color of icons is adjusted.
The same icons, and the colors are different (see screenshots).
UPD: In the version 6.0rc1 checked the same situation. What changed in the settings, tell me, please.
Thanks.

Default icons have been updated. You would need to manually tweak (or replace) PNG files for them...
They're found in Reaper's resource folder, Data\toolbar_icons

AWESOME!!! That was fast!!!
Thanks so much Devs!!
Just to be clear... I haven't tested it because I'm mid-project... but I wanted to extend a "thanks" nonetheless
Cheers,

Resource folder, Data\toolbar_icons was replaced at once - manually. The question is that the icons are the same but look different ((

I'm sorry for the late reply Justin.
Good news is that I did not try a portable install before you ask me and it does not reproduce the bug when fresh installed.
Btw tbh its the first time I get to see the new default theme in the app rather than screenshots and its really really nice.
Damn nice in fact.
I am running on Win10 latest version available.
Maybe important note is that in my tests the MIDI editor window is not on my monitor #1 but on the second monitor.
But since the fresh install solves the issue, it probably means I have a corrupted setup in my regular install ?

Any reaper_* extensions or scripts running? If you try disabling them and it still does it, can you send your reaper*.ini to support at cockos?

I don't really know what this means and if I'm right, a running script would be showing in the action menu?
I'm not supposed to have anything running. Only thing that exists on my computer would be SWS which I have installed in the past.
I also am not sure where to find the reaper*.ini files because I don't see them in my regular install folder.
Although I have been able to mess the fresh REAPER install when reproducing the steps.
And with this portable install, I can actually locate the Reaper*.ini file that you are probably refering to.
What I have right now is worse than previous because even when I laod reaper it starts now with a blank white screen with jsut a title bar.
I have sent the e-mail to support at cockos including the .inis of a bugged state.
Please tell me if I can further help
EDIT: I tested and if I delete the reaper.ini file that is in the bugged state, and then reload reaper,
the main reaper window is not blank any more.

MIDI Editor window size corruption
Simplest way to reproduce the bug in rc3 :
1. Install portable reaper in new folder on desktop
2. Maximize main window on monitor1
3. Create new empty track
4. Draw empty MIDI item on this track
5. double-click MIDI item
6. Drag the already un-docked MIDI Editor to monitor 2 on my right (or use Windows + Arrows hotkeys to mvoe the window also reproduces the bug)
7. Maximize the ME window that is now on monitor 2
Result : corrupted ME window and unclickable content (main Reaper window remains intact and working)

No.
I thought I needed to mess with docking-undocking the window at first but these more extensive testings reproduce the issue with just these steps.
I'll reboot my computer and start from sratch.
See also if I'm able to record with obs studio and 2 display monitors.

Or point a phone at the screen
I was able to reproduce some graphics weirdness (but to make that happen I had to move the main window to the monitor that had the MIDI editor) but strangely these issues also affected Edge/IE after REAPER exited...and were resolved when I changed some display positioning.
What are your DPI settings for each monitor?

I sent a boring video to support - reproducing the steps up to 7 and then it did not bug. So I proceeded further by docking and un-docking the ME window
until I can see the bottom part of the window that bugged.
Both screen are on 100% scaling and are 1920x1080 displays.
One is 24inches physically and the second monitor is 21inches.
Monitor 1 is pluged in a display-port and the 2nd in a DVI on my graphics card nvidia 1070ti
I'm not aware of changing any DPI settings but I'll look-up more and update if needed
EDIT: I made sure that in windows settings and Nvidia dedicated graphic settings there was no signs of DPI modifications
and then I was able to reproduce a blank ME window with only a title bar. Still by the same steps from 1 to 7.
new steps :
8. dock ME window
9. un-dock
10. Close ME window
11. Double click MIDI item to open ME window
12. test restoring and maximizing the window and it might break
Result: this time was a blank screen with title bar only and can't click
Note: it seems a bit random the more I reproduce each steps.
I think its related with restoring the window them maximizing again
I notice that if I drag the ME window half and half between both screen, there is a size disproportion
(that's not caused by Reaper in any way, it's like that with every windows). Maybe that can affect the calculations I don't know?
But still, when it does the blank screen I would doubt it's related to the DPI
EDIT2:
Uh sorry but I just managed to make Windows10's own settings window disappear when maximizing it on the 2nd monitor
EDIT3:
I tried to do the steps focusing only on my main monitor.
I don't know how it reached that point but as I am writting this,
the main window cannot be focused any more.
And if I double click the visible MIDI item on the main window I get this :
And then if I close that project using the window taskbar right click menu and then re-open it,
the main window is white with only a title bar and is unclickable
