...and just like that, event list now follows where edit cursor is going. Thanks, devs!

Bug in 5.81pre4:
Go into the midi editor
Go File / Note names / Rename current note
(or rename a key by double-right-clicking it)
Enter to finish renaming it
All options disappear from the menu except Reaper and Edit
(No File, Navigate, Options, View, etc.)
Exiting the midi editor and re-entering it does fix the problem.
I'm running OS X 10.9, 32bit Reaper

Heh ancient bug (not new to this or any recent pre-release), but noted, thanks.

Ey Justin- would you mind reachecking vst/plugin scanning - this is still occurring in 5.80 (bit off release topic but..)
seems to be launching seperate 32bit processes and stays that way until reastart.
win10/r5.80x64
cheers.

That’s almost certainly a poorly behaved plugin ... you could use process explorer and see what plugins are loaded in there...

^aye-good call-- it was a slew of il plugs-possible duplicates... eeek.. -this only happens on a '1st time scan' of a new folder-- > problem still being if i then quit reaper__ the 'tasks' are still running in the background. :/
having to manually end each task-- is fine on reaboot and 2nd scan.
cheerz.

Probably related to the problems that McCrabney mentioned in earlier threads:
* One MIDI editor per project
* Open all selected MIDI items
* Selection is linked to active/editable/visible
* Make secondary items editable when opened from arrange view
Double-clicking in arrange view to change active item randomly leaves other selected items hidden:

Edit: duplicated on Windows, thanks (not an issue on macOS, heh).

Thanks.
Maybe too far off for this pre-cycle, but seeing MIDI editor / Event list in focus, could the Event list also respect MDI items editability / visibilty, instead of only displaying the currently active item ? Would be nice for some bulk editing functionality.
