Default How to Change Selected Item Color to dark

Hi there,
I really need to change the selected item color, it becomes too white and bright when selected.

I mostly use dark themes in windows and it is way out of proportion.

I followed this thread https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=203379
but I could not understand response #5

Thanks a lot

I think this question belongs in the theming forum.

And last I checked it's controlled by the item_bg_sel.png file in your (probably compressed) theme file.

You have to decompress your theme file and edit the image file in an image editor like photoshop. Then you'll have to recompress, or in Theme Tweaker point Reaper to the new folder that came out of the compressed theme file.

If you don't know about editing image files, you can try grabbing one from some other theme and overwriting yours.

See this sticky Common tweaks to a REAPER theme to learn how to unpack a theme. Once unpacked, a theme can still be used but you can swap in images from other themes, or edit images, to make changes.

As mentioned, item_bg_sel.png is the image in question for what you want.
