FOLDERS - hide children tracks with one click
i saw in ableton 10 thing that:
when you resize children tracks it also collaps to one folder track
when it will be possible to hide all tracks with one click?
and it will be linked with mixer + tcp

I agree that this feature is useful to help clean the visual aspect on the project window. I am used to this in Cubase and used it all the time.
The idea is to have the folder/master/VCA track be the only visible asset to save the visual space of those tracks that are folded inside its master container.
It is more handy than hidding all the tracks because you keep control on the only visible track you need at this point in your creative process.
If this is possible I think it will be a great project organising feature.
Thanks for all
Alex

Could do this pretty easily with a custom action on a mouse modifier. Not voting against the request btw, but if you want the functionally in the meantime

Something like, save selection, select children of folder, toggle track show/hide, restore selection
Not at pc, so this is from memory

Yeah, like that too. Could be implented as a new (optional) toggle state of a folder.
Another options are key modifiers for clicking the folder toggle button:
* hide all children
* expand all children
* restore children state

There's already an action that can toggle the visibility of children tracks.
This can be set to a keyboard shortcut or a mouse modifier for tracks.
me2beats has one.
And I've been using a custom action for while now:
SWS: Save current track selection
SWS: Select only children of selected folders
SWS: Unselect parents(s) of selected folder tracks(s)
Track: Toggle show/hide in TCP
Track: Togggle show/hide in mixer
SWS: Restore saved track selection

Still think this option should be native and we should be able to completely hide child tracks with a press on the folder triangle (no middle state). As an option of course.
Then it would avoid such ugliness as this! It looks like a graphical crash! lol

It is already possible.
1) edit your theme: set supercollapsed state of children to 0px
2) set folder state natively by clicking state or with related action
Done.

Since Actions exist for this, it is already a native feature. All you have to do is assign them to a toolbar, keystroke, menu item or midi controller.

Wouldn't this setting be nice to have in Theme Adjuster??

By the way... I also would like to see completely hidden child-tracks within folders... at least it should be one of the toggle states of the folder. Just look at this mess in the pic, ohhh booooyy.

Operator - indeed!
There is actually a cheat way to do it by editing the theme settings so that both collapse state heights are 0 but then you can get into trouble with items now being un-selected when collapsed so not ideal.

Even if there's a workaround, it would be great to have a native option to hide folders in supercollapse state.

Holy shit!!
It would be really nice if there was an additional mode available that would completely hide the children.
Code:
I_FOLDERCOMPACT : int * : folder compacted state (only valid on folders), 0=normal, 1=small, 2=tiny children, 3=hidden children

I was looking for this, surprised it's not a baked-in option in the preferences.

Still not a proper hide feature. The problem comes when you have folders within folders with the workarounds, seems to unhide other tracks inside the parent folder.
