Default Open new plugins at the CENTER of the screen

A setting to display newly added plugins at the center of the screen rather than top left that REAPER defaults to.

Currently REAPER displays every new plugin i insert at the top left of the screen, i keep having to move plugin windows. Considering that you can add hundreds of VST plugins during a project (and hundreds more that you end up deleting) this wastes a lot of time. It would be great if there was a setting to display newly added plugins at the center of the screen.

This definitely needs to be an option.

And also... option of which screen.
I have two screens, and plugins open on the wrong screen all the time. It seems that new plugins open underneath the last touched plugin, which is not at all what I want. I don't think anyone expects that.

Yessss! At least the option to set a margin so that the plugins don't go that far left and cover the tracks...

Don't forget you have actions to reposition the floating windows relative to the mouse position. It's not ideal, but it's more comfortable than dragging windows around a thousand times.

See if this ReaPack script helps:
amagalma_Center in screen the floating FX or FX Chain

Assign it to a keyboard shortcut.

That works pretty well. Now the devs just need to run that script when the user adds a new plugin.

+1 please. I use 3 displays from time to time. It's quite annoying that plugin windows get burried so often. I'd love to have them opening on "center of screen 2" for example.

This might be helpful. (it works with multiple monitors)

Thats better than nothing but not ideal

Two options are missing:

1. it could be nice if there was a position offset settings (from center or from mouse position) like SWS added for their contextual toolbars.

2. there should be option to first open at center and then cascade the next windows instead of hidding each other.

+1. I refused to use "center of screen" option because the windows are constantly hiding each other.

is this broken? I assigned a command and it doesn't do anything

Was reaper updated with this option somewhere?

EDIT: after a few tries, it works thanks! I just have to click on some of the GUIs first...

Unless I'm missing something, this is an old post and this feature has been added. There's screenshot that shows you how to set it up in post #17 (scroll up a bit).
