Default How to hide/show midi tracks in TCP when you also have Audio tracks in MCP

Hi,

I tried with Lokasenna's amazing "Show only specified tracks" but when I click "Show all tracks in TCP" it even shows the Audio tracks I hide in track manager. I only wanna see the MIDI tracks in TCP and the AUDIO tracks in MCP but been able to hide & show certain tracks/folders/children in TCP without having to hide AUDIO tracks again in Track Manager. Make sense? Is there any way around this?

Thanks

That is given, Show all tracks action does what it says. Same for the actions Show all tracks in TCP and Show all tracks in MCP.

Track manager. You can select what tracks are shown in TCP and what are shown in MCP by ticking/unticking the appropriate columns.

Say that I only wanna see Strings tracks and create a button/shortcut with Lokasennas script. If I then wanna see all in TCP again it will also show those hidden audio tracks, which I don't want. Those should still be hidden when I hit the button/shortcut again. Same goes for all other instrument folder.

I must say I don't quite understand what you are trying to do. Show only specified tracks script works with the track names, not with track contents (MIDI, audio).

So when you only want to see tracks named "strings", you can indeed do that with this script. But afaik, you cannot show in the same context (TCP, MCP) tracks which have different names. You could export a preset where you'd see e.g. only tracks named "strings" in TCP and another preset for "drums" in MCP > select the context for the preset with the Apply to tick boxes.

Hi Tobbe
This is how I work with my Track Inspector Tags script. Maybe you are interested. There are more features and it is still in development and there is no good documentation yet. I think it accomplishes to do what you are asking. It works by assigning tags to tracks. For example here I added an AUDIO tag to the audio outputs tracks, and a MIDI tag to the MIDI tracks. Then tagged the violins 1 and 2 respectively so now you can combine visibility options for tags and make TCP and MCP display whatever you need. Keyboard shortcuts can be assigned too for any combination of tags visibility and each tag actions too. Let me know if you have any question.

Default Show strings in TCP

It is just a question of naming your tracks. All strings tracks could have the "strings" incorporated in the name, or on my case I have a strings folder.

In the Lokasenna script Name must match "strings" More than one track is checked, show children of matches is checked.

Your AUDIO tracks can't have "strings" in the name. perhaps rename them to Str's Audio.
