I know Linuxsampler/Fantasia but it would be really great to have a "all-in-one" like a mini Kontakt thing.
Have you tried Carla? I only recently tried messing with it and just un-archived it into my .vst folder where REAPER picked it up. So far I've only messed with loading single sf2/sfz files, but in the parameters there is a midi channel control. Mght be possible to load multiple sf2/sfz instruments in a single instance of Carla then use a bus to control them independently from other tracks. Like I said though, I haven't tried it but it looks possible.

I finally got myself going on a bit larger project so this is what I am currently working on:

It will not be a "One drum plugin to rule them all".. instead just a digital
version of my personal Sonor Hilite Exclusive red maple kit.

Under the hood I got my own lossless compression algorithm that can get the
samples down to a third where the hope is to get a VST plugin with the size
of ca 50mb with full set of 24bit/44.1khz multisampled drums.

It will take a while and I am that kind of programmer that do stuff from scratch so I just managed to convert the filebrowser section in my GUI engine to native Linux.... and then it is just the rest...

So the VSTi will be a hybrid of old "rack module" style and more modern where I will use the file browser section to toggle different editor screens.

Programming is fun....

Hi,

How's it going with your "drum" plugin. Been awhile since you posted something. Big fan of your previous contributions for Linux.

Thanks!

That's for this it looks great. About time we had more drums options for Linux.
Having read you are developing from the ground up I would make a suggestion. It would be great that you incorporate a song option like MT-Powerdrumkit where the midi grooves are made of parts purchased privately (Lets say from Groove Monkey or any other source) and a mapping option where the user can create his own mappings to match those grooves. That way the sampler becomes a more complete option.

All in all it looks great!

Thanks again.

A compressor with a tiiny La2a flavor...

The plugins are coded from scratch where I have not used any existing
VST platform tools.

The Linux version uses Xlib and the only problem I got with it
in reaper is that when you close the GUI you will get a "Gdk-WARNING gdk_window_set_user_time called on non-toplevel" . It is caused by XcreateImage() where I guess it has something to do with me just using Xlib and not gdk where it is because it is not a gdk composite declared window?!

The window versions were compiled inside win10 running in a VirtualBox under Linux Ubuntu 18.0 using Visual Studio Community.

I made the graphics using Blender 2.79. (such a nice program...)

A little video where you can get a clue of some functions in the toolbar: (I will make more complete stuff when I get all the code stuff together..)

https://youtu.be/cQaCtT1P8vM

So if you want to test it out (at your own risk of course..) then feel free to download it from my dropbox and see if it will enhance your music:

Linux 64bit version (no 32bit at the moment)

Windows 32 bit version

Windows 64bit version

Any feedback would be nice.

Thanks for sharing, wonderful! Especially the bottom section shows your geniosity. (Did I write it correctly?) Tried 32-bit win version under wine, no errors.

Default Great Stuff!

Wow, dldoodler, your plugins rock!

I have tried both limiters, and the 1925. Just loving em!

I sure am happy you migrated back to Linux!

Many thanks, and kudos!

To the OP, if still here, thank you for this and your other plugins. This is exactly what I've been looking for.

I just stumbled upon this because someone made a thread about it over at KVR. I was a huge fan of Daniel's work way back in the last decade and this new 64bit plugin totally hit me by surprise. I was expecting it to be excellent and was not at all let down when trying it.

This is really a great compressor plugin by any measure - free or otherwise.

Thank you so much for it, Daniel!

So I hadn't used this plugin in a long while, but I was just comparing a bunch of compressors I have installed, when Reaper suddenly crashed. Digging into it, I noticed something weird in /var/log/syslog. It seems that when I open TLs-1295-LEA, I get the following error message: "XWINDOW ERROR!(BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)) type(XGetWindowProperty)". And after that, it appeared that opening almost *any* plugin GUI caused similar error messages, except every time the error message gets longer, the phrase "XGetWindowProperty" repeated over and over, until there's a buffer overflow and Reaper terminates!

No idea if this is an issue exclusive to this particular plugin, but a handful of others I checked did not cause these errors to trigger, until after I'd loaded TLs-1295-LEA... Thinking back, I recall having some seemingly random crashes when closing/opening plugin GUIs in the past. It's possible I was using this at the time, though I can't recall with certainty...
