Default Getting ReaStream to stream locally into OBS Studio [Solved]

I'm having some trouble getting ReaStream to send audio from Reaper and into OBS Studio, both running on the same machine.

As far as I know, it should use the "loopback" IP-address of 127.0.0.1 and both instances of ReaStream should use the same identifier.

I've tried turning off my firewalls, and both Reaper and OBS are in the firewall exception list.

Are there any other obvious reasons why this doesn't work?

Edit: Maybe this is an OBS question. I tried sending out to "*local broadcast" and then receiving on a different project tab within Reaper, and this worked.

Edit: Solved. For some reason I had to choose a different device other than "Default" for that particular input in the audio mixer.

Hey, I have been trying to get this to work on my main machine for several days now. I have reastream working on my laptop (older version of windows) but it will NOT work on 1909. I am about to try your solution, I will reply, my status.

I was still only able to get it to work for a few seconds using the above method. Brought this to the Reaper Blog Community group on Facebook and Andy Linhart came up with a very clean solution!

Create a Media Source in OBS (Or Streamlabs OBS) and set it to loop a silent .wav file, then apply the ReaStream VST to this source.

The issue applying it to an audio input source for me - if it's picking up anything through the input - is I need to use my mic input during streams, too. Hope this is helpful!

You could use rearoute 1/2 on the master track output then use OBS ASIO input in OBS. To get the ASIO plugin for OBS go here https://github.com/Andersama/obs-asio/releases. This makes things pretty easy.

Thanks for this, I manage to get OBS monitoring but the signal is not recorded in the video!

What may be the problem? Thank you!!!
