Default MIDI devices not found. Aaarrgh

Morning

I've used Reaper with my two midi devices (KORG nanoPAD and microKEY) for years without any issues

Recently had to reinstall Reaper and now I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it to see the hardware

Under:

Preferences > Audio > MIDI Devices >

I can see 3x <device not found> where I previously saw both MIDI devices

I've tried restarting Reaper, unplugging and re-plugging both devices, resetting USB ports, everything

What am I missing!

In addition, both the devices are listed as disabled options under MIDI outputs

Please help me

enable them? Sounds like that will be all you need to do.
FWIW you will need to enable at LEAST the pad for control a well, plus of course you will have to reinstall whoever's keymap (I use Axelf's one) you were using.

Might be worth searching for the Axelf method of installing and using stuff like this.

I don't get the option to enable them! Where they would normally be listed (Preferences > Audio > MIDI Devices > ) I see 3x <device not found> - I SHOULD see the devices listed with Disabled next to them, but I don't

I've checked and they're visible by the machine, just not Reaper

Right click on where it says "disabled"

but if you are getting device not found, that is a new one on me.
Unless of course you didnt install the reaper keymaps relating to your two devices?
Have a look at that old Axelf thread on Korg Nano series.

Just checked and MY Nanopad and Nanocontrol came up as "device not found" on launching reaper.
But when I then went into prefs midi devices they were listed and I just had to re-set everything, then it all just worked as usual. I suspect the error came in the first place was because I had been playing around with TouchOSC and Reaper OSC a couple of days ago....

Just remembered you also have to have the relevant driver installed, at least for the Nanopad....
You did do that didnt you?
