Default Seting min and maximum velocity values in a specific MIDI note

Hello everyone,

I'd like to set the min and max velocity values of a specific midi note.

For example, my velocities go from 0-127, but I want that all the events in that specific note go just between 50-110.

Is this even possible?

Thanks a lot

are you talking about midi velocity scaling ?

i.e. 0-127 : 50-110

or do u mean that you wanna record some midi normally (0-127 velocity) and then change it to 50-110

i beleive there's an included rea plug that does that...im in office right now, but i'll confirm when i get back home onto my reaper machine

For example, when playing MIDI triggered drums, the snare is assigned to a note. I want that the velocity of the snare hits doesn't go above 110, even if I play very hard hits. So when it's supposed to be 127 (the hardest hit), it should read 110.

Is there a way to limit the velocities in a way that they don't go beyond a specific value in a specific note?

Of course, there's a way to config the triggers so they don't send MIDI velocity data above a specific value, but I don't have that chance because all the MIDI items are already done.

I see that 'rea midi_velocitycontrol' has an option to limit velocity values, but the values you insert are applied to all the midi notes, and I need to limit only the note assigned to the snare and leave the kick, hit-hat, etc with the usual 0-127.

The last two parameters are "note range min" and "note range max". Set both to the note that triggers the snare.

Is it possible to select the snare note here?

EDIT: Solved. At the beginning, I tough that the values of the "note range" were velocity values, that's why I asked were to select the notes... D'oh!

Thank you all for your answers. Thanks Fex, that was really helpful!
