can someone confirm custom action limit?
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=226256
in the linked thread i describe a problem i've recently had. wondering if it could be linux related so thought i'd ask for confirmation here. essentially, i couldn't save a custom action that got too big. breaking it into smaller parts and combining the parts into a new action solved the issue but requires having three actions instead of one. the limit i found was at around 114 actions. in my case, ten of the sub-actions were themselves custom actions, each containing 9 actions. thus, i'm counting the ten instances 90 actions. anyway, does anyone else get this behavior? i'm on kubuntu with kx repositories and using reaper64 v5.984 thanks, babag |

The most actions I've ever chained together was to create an "Undo recording, Rewind to last start position, and then Punch back into recording" function, which I have assigned to a button my my IR remote so I can use it while tracking guitar, bass, keyboards, or across the room on drums.
What the heck would have 114 back to back processes even do? |

the action takes a, roughly, 35sec piece of roomtone and divides it into 16 predetermined lengths, renaming each according to its length. i have a client with very specific requirements for pause lengths in their dialog files. i use this at the beginning of projects for dialog editing. it gives me all of the length options i need for filling breaths, adjusting delivery timing, and such. setting the time selection and splitting, not to mention the renaming, of each length takes quite a few actions. as an example, if each split/rename required 10 actions, that would be 160 actions.
thanks, babag |

Wow! Sounds very tedious, even with the help of mega-actions. Only once can I remember a client with weird needs like that, which was a dialog only hour long recording about a dialysis machine, which I had to edit from one machine to another using 1/4" tape.

No, it's not a Linux issue, this happens on Windows as well
