Default Cancel project load

Some projects are very slow to load due to large vsts. Sometimes I load the wrong project and have to wait 10 mins for it to finish. A simple cancel button on the loading splash would be nice.

Also, possibly something that gives a sort of overview of the project. Maybe take a screen shot of the project when it was last save and then show a scaled down version(or not) when loading in the slash(instead of useless logo's and such, no offense )...

(the screenshot could be a full screenshot that one could expand to show the entire view that was open last so they can easily see the details of the project but doesn't require waiting for it to load.. so they can decide if the project was right or not then cancel the loading of all the data quickly if needed)

I really wish this would happen. I used to have a link to this request (when the tracker was up) in my signature.

Must be done.

It's not a crucial issue, but still would be nice to have it. It's what you would expect from a great software.

Absolutely necessary when working with massive orchestral templates and subprojects. Right now I'm waiting for a subproject to load. I clicked by error. Usually, I'd press ctrl+alt+supr. It takes less time to re-open the parent project again than waiting for the subproject. But in this case, parent project is heavy too and I didn't save the parent. So I'm f****d up.

+ 1 for a cancel-button

I also like the idea of the screenshot. Logic does that and it also helps to preview the project tempo if you have forgotten it and someone needs this information (client, colleague).
I don't know about the possibilities here but a simple screrenshot when you close the project (or save it) which is overwritten everytime and just saved in the projects folder would be awesome!

Can be handy. I often mix a large stack of episodes in one session, when you load the wrong session it's useful to have that ability to stop the loading process.

Default +1 and should work while Reaper is opening as well

+1 for listening for the Esc key and/or having a "Cancel" button while loading a project

... and ...

when Reaper first runs, when all my previous project tabs are opening (because that's the behaviour I usually want), it should listen for the Esc key (or have a cancel button) and if I hit Esc or Cancel give me the options:

Stop loading this project / Stop loading ALL projects / Cancel

Usually when I run Reaper I want all my previous projects to open, but occasionally I don't, and a Stop loading button would save some time.

This would be useful when accidentally loading the wrong project with a lot of tracks/FX that can take a while

I have no idea if this '+1' or -2x+3 = something works... but yeah, I would welcome this.
