Default Vocal recording

HI new to this, when recording vocals and you make a mistake half way through rather than starting again, how do you record from say half way through. Hope that makes sense..Thanks..

Hi Martym and welcome. There are lots of ways to do this but maybe the simplest would be to open a new track (there's no limit to how many you can have!) and record the "second half" on this new track. Later on, if you like, the "item" (ie the clip within the track) could be moved on to the original track.

I am afraid there is a bit of controversy about how Reaper handles "takes" as this process is known. You should look at the sections in the manual on this topic and also these Kenny videos as a different approach to using a new track.
