Default "stacking" tracks gain anomaly

Hi, in order to conserve tracks, If i want to put a small guitar harmony on top of another guitar track it seems to increase gain and almost "pop" nearly +10db at playback and then go back to normal..the solution is to not put one track on top of another obviously BUT.....IS there a way to fix this and still "stack" the tracks? Shame to have all these extra tracks with only a small item or two on them..Thanks again !
OB

1+1=2

You can mix the items, turn the items down within the track. I actually do this a lot. I Mostly control the item volumes with the take volume envelope, you can also use the take gain. it's either a line, or a knob on the item depending on your preferences.
